The Metalwest Conflict Minerals Statement

Metalwest is a processor and distributor of metal products including carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Our processing activities are confined to the physical alteration of the metals and do not in any way alter or impact the chemical content of those products.

There are many layers in the supply chain that separate us from the mines where tantalum, tin, tungsten, and gold (Conflict Minerals) are sourced. Based on a reasonable inquiry of our suppliers, to our knowledge, the materials we supply to our customers after January 31, 2013, will be “DRC conflict free” since such products either are produced from recycled and scrap sources or utilize Conflict Minerals that do not originate from the Democratic Republic of the Congo or adjoining countries.

In an effort to assist our customers with their compliance with Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act and the related Section 13(p) of the Securities and Exchange Act of 1934, we are providing access to the required Conflict Minerals Certifications provided by the manufacturers of the metals we distribute, which are included in the material test reports when requested. These manufacturers’ and the Metalwest certificate(s) can also be accessed by clicking on the links to the right.
